A new document, the "Manifesto for Creativity and Innovation in Europe" is meant to help shape the European Union’s strategy on the promotion of creativity and innovation. It is a key outcome of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009 and is the result of the collective efforts of leading European personalities who have been appointed Ambassadors of the Year of Creativity and Innovation. They represent sectors such as culture, science, business and design.
The manifesto contains reflections and key proposals on themes such as how Europe can increase its creative and innovative potential in education, research, design, business and the workplace.
The manifesto and the Year of Creativity and Innovation seek to enhance the contribution and role of creativity and innovation in generating economic prosperity, social and individual well-being in the EU.
