First museum dedicated to Azorean agriculture opens next summer

The first Agricultural Museum of the Azores will open its doors next summer in the village of Altares, Terceira.
Showcasing the history and agricultural characteristics of the Azorean archipelago, with a focus on Terceira, the museum will feature artefacts from public and private collections as well leisure and dining facilities.
Local breeds such as ramo grande cattle and Terceira ponies will also be on show.
In addition, this new "living museum" will include pony rides, tours around the island plus crafts and local gourmet foods for sale, thus providing a comprehensive tourism experience.
